What If Dublin is a Twitter-based web platform, initiated by a collective of young architects, designers and urban researchers, which invites the public to participate in a debate on the actual urban questions of the city. These questions and more were asked during St Patrick’s Festival Ireland as part of the “ILoveMyCity” program from 14 to 17 March. Five installations were strategically placed throughout the city centre. Passersby engaged with the steel benches, triggering their imagination and encouraging a re-thinking of the possibilities of public spaces. These mild steel benches houses where constructed using layers of 6mm steel. Images where printed on Clear cling and positioned between layers of 10mm acrylic juxtapositioning the reality with the imagined.
